Madison College group members enjoy the
Holy Wisdom Monastery grounds by snowshoe.

Holy Wisdom Monastery is working with Redfeather Snowshoes to offer registered meeting or retreat guests at Holy Wisdom Monastery the ability to get outside and snowshoe on our 130 acres of land. This winter Holy Wisdom Monastery purchased 11 pairs of Redfeather Conquest snowshoes that will be free for meeting and retreat guests to use. Contact Amanda Conway at 608-836-1631, x100 or aconway@benedictinewomen.org if you are interested in bringing a group to Holy Wisdom Monastery this winter. Contact Monica Jefcoat at 608-836-1631, x158, or mjefcoat@benedictinewomen.org if you are interested in coming for a personal retreat and want more information on using the snowshoes.

Deciding to purchase through Redfeather Snowshoes was an easy choice. The snowshoes are hand built in La Crosse, Wisconsin so they are traveling a very short distance to get here, dramatically reducing the carbon footprint. Additionally, the Conquest snowshoes are a good environmental choice because they are very durable so they can stay in service for many years to come. And, when they do need to be replaced, a substantial portion of the snowshoe is recyclable. Lastly, users of our snowshoes can feel good knowing that our choice is a socially conscious one, too. Redfeather employs people with disabilities; in fact it is a subsidiary of parent company ORC Industries, a non-profit whose mission it is to employ people with disabilities with the goal of greater independence. So, come snowshoe our lovely trails this winter on snowshoes that helped provide some self-sufficiency and independence for disabled Wisconsinites.
