Employment opportunities
Holy Wisdom Monastery is seeking a very part-time (10 hr/month)
Kids on the Prairie Coordinator for the 2026 season!
Kids on the Prairie (KOTP) Program: The monastery offers eight KOTP sessions per year. Sessions run from April to November, one per month, on Sunday mornings, and last approximately 90 min. Attendance varies. Most of the children are under 6 years old. Each session has a seasonal theme; past themes have included birds, butterflies, pollinators, seeds, and tree ecosystems. KOTP offers children and their adults an opportunity to engage with nature with curiosity and exploration. Adults appreciate learning with the children, and the opportunity to connect with each other.
The KOTP position for the first year will resemble a paid apprenticeship with lots of support. KOTP is a thriving many years old program supported by a large group of committed volunteers who, at this juncture, need support with the coordination and administration of the program. Eventually the position will also have responsibility for vision and leadership as the responsibility shifts from a volunteer base to the coordinator position.
