    Last year, the Monastery’s custom built Schimmel grand piano was refurbished with a generous gift from oblate and Sunday Assembly member Sherri Hansen in memory of her late husband, Scott Shimanski. Join us on Sunday, June 15th, at 2:00 pm for a free concert celebrating this gift to our community. There will also be a formal dedication of the instrument by Sister Lynne Smith, OSB.     Solidarity Sunday, observed every year on a Sunday in October, is a faith-based anti-violence initiative. Dignity USA initiated Solidarity Sunday in 1995 as a way of making opposition to anti-gay violence visible. Sunday Assembly members commemorate Solidarity Sunday to support and affirm the LGBTQ+ persons in our community.

    Join us for a contemplative Taizé Prayer near the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year, to reflect on our loss, grief, sadness and loneliness. This event will replace our regular midday prayer at 11:45 am. The event will take place in the Monastery Assembly Room.     Prayer in the spirit of the Taizé community is a meditative form of common prayer.
