As part of our mission to weave prayer, hospitality, justice and care for the earth into a shared way of life, we strive to live ever more deeply into diversity, inclusivity and equity so that all may be one.

With the leadership of the Holy Wisdom Monastery’s Sunday Assembly, donors and volunteers, together we provided more than $4,480 in support of Luke House and their 60-120 weekly guests.

Feeding the hungry

Luke House provides nutritious and balanced meals to Madison’s most in-need residents – the homeless and hungry.  Through the Luke House community meal program, Holy Wisdom was able to share funding for the purchase of groceries on the second Tuesday of each month, as well as provide financial gifts donated on behalf of the greater Holy Wisdom community.

“The reasons for poverty are complex, but we know that providing the hungry with food and a safe place to eat is a vital way to help alleviate some suffering.– Luke House, Madison, WI

While COVID has eliminated our ability to volunteer and prepare meals in person for the short term, it hasn’t held us back!  There will soon be a time when we reunite to prepare and share a meal – offering the comfort of lasagna and conversation.

This past week Holy Wisdom Monastery, presented Luke House Director, Matthew Rogge, a gift of $1,000 in support of their good work to provide for those who are in great need.
