Kids on the Prairie is an experience for children and adults to learn about nature and explore the monastery grounds. June 12 It is nesting season. Miracles of life are happening all around. Join Kids On the Prairie as we check out a Bluebird nest and look for other signs of nesting birds. Find foods that birds feed their nestlings. We'll explore early prairie flowers blooming on Wisdom Prairie and as many insects as we can find there. Juneberries are one of the earliest edible fruits on our native shrubs. Maybe we'll find some. Awakening to Unconditional Wisdom and Compassion

Lama John Makransky, who led the Benedictine retreat at Holy Wisdom in 2016 with Paul Knitter and Sister Lynne Smith, OSB, is coming back to Madison to teach a 5-day silent retreat. Lama John will be joined by one of his teaching partners, Dr. Paul Condon, a Buddhist practitioner and social psychologist who draws on psychology to help people deepen their meditation experience.

ECCSR Brunch

The ECCSR is hosting a brunch following 9:00 am Sunday Assembly to meet and hear from pastors in the 2022 cohort. The brunch will occur on the final full day of their 11-day immersion and the pastors and co-directors look forward to this opportunity to express gratitude to the communities of Holy Wisdom for the many ways people have supported and contributed to the Contemplative Renewal Immersion.  Cost There is no fee for this brunch Register Please register by July 3, 2022 so we know how much food to prepare. Are you looking for a meaningful summer experience that connects your faith with care for the earth? Be a Summer Steward at Holy Wisdom Monastery for 7 days. The program includes prairie and oak savanna restoration, vegetable gardening, reading and discussion around eco-spirituality and the Rule of Benedict, practicing contemplative prayer, and sharing your life story with others – all this while living in community on the monastery grounds.  We are an ecumenical community and encourage single women of any denomination to apply. July 18-24, 2022 (ages 18-35) Aug. 15-21, 2022 (ages 30-45)
