Experience inclusive, ecumenical worship at Sunday Assembly Each Sunday, we gather for worship as a community. Through scripture readings, prayer and sharing the Bread of Life around a common table, we respond to Jesus’ invitation, “Do this in memory of me.” Our Assembly shares concern for social justice and peace; we embrace works of charity and care for the earth. For example, we serve dinner at Luke House, a community meal program, on the second Tuesday of the month and donations are collected on the third Sunday of the month for the Vera Court Food Pantry. Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Holy Wisdom Monastery* 4200 County Road M, Middleton, WI, United States

All ages are welcome to participate—little ones with a parent, and older students as readers and helpers with the teachers. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is usually scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Students are dismissed from worship to hear and learn about the scripture readings at their level. The children return later in the liturgy to receive communion.

Sunday Assembly Childcare Ministry

We are happy to announce that we will be offering a childcare ministry, typically on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, during the Sunday Assembly liturgy. Adult care takers and teenage helpers will provide care for infants and toddlers in the hospitality room.

Luke House

Holy Wisdom Monastery 4200 County Road M, Middleton, WI, United States

On the second Tuesday of each month members of Holy Wisdom Monastery participate in preparing, serving and sharing a meal at Luke House. We normally serve a vegetarian lasagna dinner, complete with salad, bread, and cookies, but during the pandemic the menu has changed to cold sandwiches, fruit, cut veggies, packaged chips, desserts, bottled water and hot coffee. Our community of donors and volunteers covers the cost of this meal and prepares 120-150 brown bag dinners, which costs about $350 per month. Kids on the Prairie

Earth Week Walk for Kids This Sunday after Sunday Assembly, we invite children and their parents or grandparents to celebrate Earth Week with a walk on the monastery grounds. Kids On the Prairie walks are a chance for kids ages 5 to 15 to explore parts of the monastery grounds with a naturalist. Children 3-4 are also welcome with parent support. This month we will feature burned areas, signs of spring all around and whatever engenders a sense of wonder and surprise. We might even pull some garlic mustard!
