Benedictine Practices for a Balanced Life

Virtual Event takes place online, WI

Benedictine spirituality aims at helping people lead a balanced life. A few basic practices can lay a foundation for centeredness through life’s ups and downs. This event will introduce participants to the Benedictine understanding of balance. Participants will engage in spiritual practices including centering prayer, lectio divina, manual labor, and awareness of the sacredness of all creation. The class consists of presentation, discussion, experiencing the practices and shared reflection. Join the sisters at Holy Wisdom Monastery for a picnic on the prairie. Put on your walking shoes, meet other women and experience the beauty of the prairie in July. Share in spiritual conversation about our relationship with the earth. A picnic meal is provided. This event is open to single, Christian women, ages 20-40. The program includes prairie and oak savanna restoration, vegetable gardening, reading and discussion around eco-spirituality and the Rule of Benedict, practicing contemplative prayer, and sharing your life story with others – all this while living in community on the monastery grounds.  We are an ecumenical community and encourage single women 18-35 of any denomination to apply.   Learn more and apply

Community & Belonging: Women’s Retreat

Are you seeking community? In this women’s retreat find community with other women as you share stories and questions from your spiritual journey. Spend 24 hours in the company of women in the rhythm of prayer, reflection and sharing.
