Benedictine Conversations

Deepen your understanding of Benedictine spirituality by joining us for one or more Conversations About Our Benedictine Life: Work. These gatherings offer time for reflection, for the contemplation of short readings about the nature of work and its place in our lives from the Rule of Benedict and other wise authors, and the goodness of being part of the shared way of Benedictine life. Benedictine monastic life follows a rhythm of work, study, prayer, and rest; work has a place but is not the whole, is not the central element – it finds its place in a rhythm of balance that can bring depth and peace to our days. Come listen to Benedict and each other with the ears of your heart; explore the challenges and the gifts of work in our lives.

An easy flow of considering readings and small group conversation in the context of Benedictine practices of statio (silent pauses) and lectio divina (sacred reading – slow and meditative). The gatherings will be between 60 and 90 minutes in length.
