The Board at Holy Wisdom Monastery has decided to cancel the March 15, 2020 Create: Aspirations Summit in order to limit large gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic.

Holy Wisdom Monastery strives to weave prayer, hospitality, justice and care for the earth into a shared way of life. Through a “community of communities” all are welcomed into a sacred space to pray, study, nourish one another and build community in this ever-changing world.

This is the Holy Wisdom mission and vision that we want to explore together as we listen, imagine and create our future.

Strengths and Opportunities

As a group we identified a large number of Strengths and Opportunities for Holy Wisdom. Below are word clouds to help you see what we created at the Opening Summit. What’s next?

The planning group will meet at the end of February to sort through data collected from more than 400 people, including those who attended one of the summits or filled out the online survey, to arrive at a set of Strength and Opportunity statements.

Aspirations

Those statements will form the foundation for Holy Wisdom’s long term Aspirations to be articulated during the upcoming Create Summit. An Aspiration is one (of several) visions for the future of an organization. Aspirations should answer questions like:

  • Reflecting on our strengths and opportunities – who should we become and where should we go in the future?
  • What would you like our future to look like?
  • What image do you have for the future of Holy Wisdom Monastery?
  • What do we care deeply about?
