The Dances of Universal Peace are spiritual practice in motion. Drawing on the sacred phrases, scripture, and poetry of many spiritual traditions, the Dances blend chant and evocative movement into a living experience of unity, peace, and integration.
Simple, meditative, and joyous, they combine simple dance movements, usually performed in a circle, with singing or chanting of a key or sacred phrase from the spiritual traditions. Some dances are lively and joyful, others slow and meditative. Slow or fast, they enliven, energize and create community. No experience is necessary. Each dance will be taught step-by-step, each phrase word-by-word.
Jerry Mosser is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, retired from a ministry of hospital and hospice chaplaincy, a graduate of Siena Retreat Center’s Spiritual Guidance Training Program, and an Oblate at Holy Wisdom Monastery. He has found the Dances of Universal Peace to be an important personal spiritual practice.
