SUMMARY:Spring Solar Tilt
DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 13\, 2025 | 3:00-4:30 pm\nWe are looking for 90 people to help tilt the solar panels at Holy Wisdom Monastery\nHoly Wisdom Monastery is proudly a net-zero facility\, having implemented solar energy and geothermal heating and cooling in 2024 in our Retreat & Guest House. \nYou are invited to participate in the Spring Solar Tilt\, a hands-on\, community event where we gather together to celebrate solar energy\, honor the changing seasons and pray for the earth. Participants had so much fun last year that we decided to make it an annual event! \nWatch the video below to learn how to tilt the solar panels\n \nThe 30-panel array can be tilted vertically or horizontally\, depending on the season. The panels are currently in their more vertical position which helps to shed snow and catch the lower winter sun more efficiently. They must be manually hand-cranked by teams of three people into their flat spring/summer orientation. Individuals and teams from the community and local businesses are invited to be part of the 2nd annual tilt event as participants or spectators. \nJoin us as one of 90 volunteers who will help to tilt Holy Wisdom’s solar panels! Or come watch and join us in prayer for climate change. Register below to let us know you’ll be coming. \nWe will begin in the Monastery Assembly Room at 3:00 pm before going outside to begin tilting. Parking space may be limited\, so bring your friends\, but please carpool if you can. Please dress for the weather. \nCost\nThere is no cost for this event unless you sign up to stay for dinner at 5:15 pm after the tilting. Since the event is ending just before dinner\, we thought some participants may want to purchase dinner at the monastery\, and enjoy a delicious meal and conversations with other tilt participants. \n$0 – Tilt participant or observer \n$22 – Tilt participant or observer plus optional dinner \nRegister\nPlease register below by May 6\, 2025.

SUMMARY:Spring Emergence: A Seasonal Retreat
DESCRIPTION:A faint gauze of spring green is appearing on the prairie’s winter browns\, welcoming you to look for your own signs of new growth. What is emerging can’t be hurried\, but calls for patient restraint and holding a space for quiet wonder. This spring retreat invites you sit with the first indications of a new season of life – on the prairie and in your own life and heart. It will hold space for your hushed anticipation and gentle tending. \nConversations about the season\, walks on the prairie\, naps\, art\, movement\, journaling\, great meals\, and welcoming accommodations will all be a part of what you can expect when you arrive. A renewed connection to nature and to yourself\, along with joy in the anticipation of new things emerging are what you can expect to take with you when you leave. \nSeasonal Retreats\nEach season this year\, we will offer a different seasonal retreat. They will open spaces where each different season can offer its unique wisdom to us in the changing seasons of our lives. Each retreat is a two-day\, one-night experience at Holy Wisdom with cozy accommodations\, delicious meals\, spacious time periods for solitude\, reading and rest and contemplative conversations with other retreatants. There will also be a variety of opportunities to explore the prairies and the season and discover their gifts for you.  \nUpcoming Retreats \n\nSummer Plentitude – July 14-15\, 2026 (Wed./Thu.)\n\n\nFall Fallowing – October 16-17\, 2026 (Fri./Sat.)\n\nSpring Emergence Date/Times\nTue.\, Apr. 14\, 8:00 am – Wed.\, Apr. 15\, 12:00 pm\, 2026 \nCost\n$260/person \nThe cost of the retreat includes program\, meals (Tuesday lunch\, dinner and Wednesday breakfast) and overnight room. \nRegister\nThe registration deadline for this retreat is April 2\, 2026\, or when the retreat fills. \nCancellation policy – if you register but must cancel your registration\, you can receive a 75% refund up until April 3rd.
