SUMMARY:Lent Series: Teach Us to Pray
DESCRIPTION:Prayer is a pillar of Benedictine life\, an essential in the spiritual life and a principal theme of Jesus’ life. But in our own lives\, prayer can be a source of confusion\, insecurity and also a little bit of a mystery. Listen to what others say about their own experiences with prayer and contemplation. Listen with others for how the spirit responds when we ask\, “teach us to pray.” \nSchedule\nEach 90-minute session will include some teaching about a particular aspect of prayer as shown in the Gospel of Luke\, reflections on other teachings about contemplation\, the sharing of personal experiences\, and an opportunity to explore different practices of prayer and contemplation. \nLeader – Pam Shellberg\n \n  \nPam Shellberg is the director of spiritual nourishment at Holy Wisdom monastery\, a student of scripture\, and someone always seeking to live a contemplative life. \nCost\n$50/person \nIf you would like to have lunch at the monastery after the in-person sessions\, we have now added an option to purchase lunch for $18/lunch.
