Sacred Spaces

The 4th annual exhibit of artwork by Sunday Assembly members, Friends of Wisdom Prairie members, Oblates and monastery volunteers is scheduled for August 4 – September 22, 2019.  The monastery’s art jury will choose work for the exhibit based on Benedictine values such as simplicity, beauty and balance. In honor of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the monastery building, this year’s exhibit theme and title will be Sacred Spaces.

Submissions

Artists are invited to submit work for consideration by sending photos of up to 3 pieces of their artwork by email to rolson@benedictinewomen.org or mailing / dropping off photos to Rachel Olson at the monastery. Include the name and size of the work, the artist’s name and the medium. The deadline to submit photos of artwork is July 1, 2019. Accepted work must be delivered to the monastery between July 28 and August 1, 2019

Summer Art Exhibit Opening Reception

The 2019 Summer Art Exhibit will open immediately after Sunday Assembly (around 10:00 am) on August 4th with a time for refreshments and an opportunity to visit with the artists in the monastery’s gathering area. All are welcome, so please invite your family and friends to attend. No registration necessary.

Gallery Hours

The exhibit will run from August 4 – September 21, 2019 and can be viewed anytime during the monastery’s public hours:  M – F, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (excluding holidays) and Sundays from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
