Children, parents, grandparents and friends are invited to Kids On the Prairie on Sunday, June 27. This month’s theme is exploring Wisdom Prairie. Using magnifiers and a little patience, we will investigate flowers and the insects that live on them. Sunday Assembly member, Rita Emmenegger, will help us look for monarch eggs on common milkweed. Hopefully we will see some monarchs. This month’s prairie exploration will be followed by a short walk to look for bluebirds that have recently fledged.
Kids On the Prairie is for children ages 3 and above and their grown-ups. It is open to the public as well as members of Holy Wisdom communities. We meet at the kiosk in the parking area at 10:15 am and return there at 11:30 am. If it is raining, we will have a short plant exploration and monarch update indoors.
Hats, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and closed-toed shoes are a good idea. Unvaccinated children and grown-ups are encouraged to wear a mask and maintain a healthy distance. For more information, please feel free to email me, jmelton@uwalumni.com.
