Thank you!

The Celebration of Community was a joyous weekend filled with family and friends who love and support the sisters of Holy Wisdom Monastery. The events honored the sisters and their promises to monastic life, and all the communities of the monastery. People joined from near and far, in person and virtually to show how much the sisters and their ministries mean to them. The weather couldn’t have been better and the monastery was adorned with flowers inside and out.

Sister Everline Jeruto

During the Sunday Assembly liturgy on September 26, 2021 Everline Jeruto made her first monastic profession and became a sister in the Benedictine Women of Madison community. Sister Everline put aside her fears and trusted God as she answered the call to come to the monastery two years ago from Africa.

In addition the rest of the sisters renewed their monastic promises and celebrated anniversaries of their monastic professions, Sister Joanne Kollasch (67 years), Sister Mary David Walgenbach (60 years), Sister Lynne Smith (21 years) and Sister Denise West (3 years).

In Gratitude for our Celebration Event Sponsors

We deeply appreciate the financial support provided by more than 150 donors to support the ongoing needs of our Benedictine Women of Madison sister’s community.  More than $128,000 has been raised specifically for the Care for the Sisters Fund, which provides the quality health care, retirement, continuing education tuition and enrichment development and personal travel needs for the current and next generation of monastic leaders at Holy Wisdom Monastery.
